Polygon is a family of blockchain networks built to run Ethereum-compatible applications at lower cost. Its main chain, Polygon PoS, hosts payment, DeFi and on-chain betting apps, Polymarket among them, because transactions settle quickly and cost a fraction of what they cost on Ethereum itself. POL is the token that pays gas and secures the network.

Future of Polygon Crypto: Roadmap, POL Supply and AgglayerPolygon's shipped Rio upgrade, its 100k TPS gigagas target, POL's capped emission and Agglayer's loss limits, read from Polygon Labs' own documents.Polycasino Sector SheetLong-exposure white and red light trails curve along a motorway at night.

What happened to MATIC?

POL replaced MATIC as the native gas and staking token of Polygon PoS in September 2024. Holders on the network were migrated, and exchanges converted balances on their own schedules. Any guide that still tells you to buy MATIC for gas on Polygon PoS predates the switch.

Why does the withdrawal network matter?

POL exists in more than one place: as the native token on Polygon PoS and as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. When you withdraw from an exchange, the network you pick decides where the coins land. Send to Polygon PoS and they arrive as native POL that pays gas there. Pick Ethereum and they arrive as an ERC-20 token that cannot pay Polygon gas and needs ETH to move. A deposit sent on a network the receiving wallet or casino does not support can be lost. Our guide on how to buy Polygon crypto walks through the choice step by step.

What is Polygon building next?

Polygon Labs publishes a roadmap that covers throughput upgrades to Polygon PoS, the POL token's emission schedule and Agglayer, a layer meant to connect separate chains so assets and messages can move between them. Plans and shipped upgrades are not the same thing, and the price talk around Polygon rarely separates them. Our read on the future of Polygon crypto sorts what has shipped from what is still a target, using Polygon's own documents.

How do I read Polygon metrics?

Total value locked, DEX volume, transaction counts and fees each measure something different. TVL counts assets deposited in protocols and moves with token prices. DEX volume counts trading. Neither says anything about the funds a casino holds. The sheet pulls these figures from public dashboards and dates every one.

How Polycasino covers Polygon

Filings start from Polygon Labs' documentation, block explorers and dated dashboards, and treat the network as a measurable sector rather than a price call. Nothing here is investment advice. Start with the buying guide.
