The city at night. The numbers flowing. The problem with human dealers is the same as the problem with everything human: they sleep, they eat, they fail. An AI dealer never sleeps. An AI dealer never misdeals. An AI dealer never steals.
This is the pitch. Developers are building AI systems that can deal cards, spin wheels, manage games. The tech is close. A few years away, maybe. When it arrives, it will reshape live casino economics.
Right now, a live dealer costs money. The salary, the benefits, the training. A casino running 24 tables needs 24 times the headcount, accounting for shifts. Evolution Gaming employs thousands of dealers. That cost is built into the house edge.
An AI dealer costs nothing per hand. The development cost is paid once. The deployment cost is maintenance and server infrastructure. The economic advantage to the casino is enormous.
The Technical Challenge

Building an AI that can handle cheating accusations is harder. A human dealer can explain their logic. An AI can output a decision, but explaining why that decision was made is complex. Players will not trust a system they cannot interrogate.
Building an AI that can handle edge cases (a card drops, a bet is unclear) is harder still. These situations require judgment. AI judgment in a financial context makes regulators nervous.
The Regulatory Question
Will the MGA, UKGC, and Curaçao eGaming allow AI dealers? The answer is probably yes, eventually. But with caveats. The AI must be auditable. The random number generation must be verified. The decision-making must be transparent.

The Timing
The technology is probably two to three years away from deployment. The regulatory frameworks are probably five to ten years away. So there will be a period (five to ten years from now) where some casinos have AI dealers and regulators are still figuring out what to do about it.
During that period, there will be failures. An AI dealer will make an error. A player will claim fraud. Regulators will pause. The pendulum will swing. Eventually, both human and AI dealers will coexist, regulated separately.
The human dealer will not disappear. But for casual games, routine play, the AI is coming. The city evolves. The game evolves. The dealer walks off the floor. The machine takes over.
