The expert take
The casino at PokerStars exists mostly to keep poker players from leaving to spin slots elsewhere. That is not a criticism - the wallet integration with the poker client is genuinely useful, and the library covers all the mainstream studios.
On its own merits the casino is average. As an add-on to a serious poker account, it is one of the more sensible options because compliance, KYC and payout rails are all shared with the poker parent.
Company file
PokerStars was founded in 2001 by Mark Scheinberg and his father Isai as an online poker platform. The site became the world's largest poker network through the 2000s. Amaya Inc (now The Stars Group) acquired PokerStars in 2014 for $4.9 billion. Flutter Entertainment took ownership in May 2020. PokerStars Casino launched as the brand extended into online casino gaming in regulated markets, bringing 25 years of poker expertise to casino entertainment.
